Wehrlein tops final F1 test as McLaren struggles

Pascal Wehrlein was fastest on the final day of testing in Abu Dhabi as McLaren managed just two laps with its new Honda power-unit. Wehrlein - the Mercedes reserve driver – was making his debut in the 2014 car and set a fastest time of 1:42.624 late on Wednesday afternoon, a time 0.7s quicker than Valtteri Bottas' benchmark on Tuesday. His trouble-free 96 laps of running was in stark contrast to fortunes at McLaren, with the team again failing to set a time as it tried to test the Honda power-unit at Yas Marina.
