Title win the greatest day of my life – Hamilton
+ Lewis Hamilton says winning a second Formula 1 world championship ranks as the ‘greatest day of his life’, beating his first title success in 2008.
Hamilton won the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to secure the second world championship of his F1 career.
The Englishman simply needed to finish second behind his team-mate Nioc Rosberg to win the championship, but he took the lead from his title rival into Turn 1 on the opening lap.
Rosberg shadowed Hamilton throughout the first stint, but the German faded after an ERS failure, eventually finishing 14th, giving Hamilton the title.
