Hamilton fastest in opening Abu Dhabi practice
+ Lewis Hamilton was fastest for Mercedes during opening practice ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hamilton, the championship leader going into this weekend’s season finale, posted a lap of 1:43.476 to edge his team-mate and title rival Nico Rosberg by 0.133s.
Fernando Alonso, driving in his last grand prix for Ferrari, was third, ahead of outgoing champion Sebastian Vettel, who will replace him at the Scuderia in 2015.
Daniel Ricciardo was fifth fastest in the second Red Bull, while Jean-Eric Vergne was sixth for Toro Rosso despite a late battery problem.
Daniil Kvyat was seventh, ahead of Valtteri Bottas, who missed most of the session after a bizarre body work failure, while Sergio...
