McIlroy: Hamilton the deserving Champ
Rory McIlroy, yes Rory McIlroy the number one golfer in the world, is backing Lewis Hamilton for the 2014 title, saying "he's the deserving Champion".
The Drivers' Championship will be decided at this weekend's season-finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but the permutations are not straightforward due to the double-points rule.
The regulation was brought in to ensure that the fight goes down to the wire, but McIlroy believes it would be unfair on Hamilton if he ends up empty handed as he has won 10 races compared to his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg's five.
