Alonso hopes Button remains in F1

Jenson Button has received the backing of Fernando Alonso as the Brit continues to face an anxious wait to learn if he McLaren will re-sign him. Alonso is set to return to the Woking-based squad next year and Button or his current team-mate Kevin Magnussen are set to make way for the double World Champion. According to reports racing director Eric Boullier wants to keep Button, but Group CEO Ron Dennis is in favour of keeping Magnussen. Button has in recent days criticised McLaren over the way they are handling the issue, saying being wanted by the team is far more important than money.
