Red Bull closer to Mercedes – Ricciardo

+ Daniel Ricciardo believes Red Bull’s Friday practice pace ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix suggests the team is the closest it has been to Mercedes in several races. Ricciardo, who was tenth in the morning session, ended the day fourth fastest overall, eighth tenths shy of Nico Rosberg’s fastest time for Mercedes. However, the Australian said the team’s pace on the long-runs was extremely promising. “The early signs are good,” he told reporters at Interlagos. “It is sort of our best long runs, even though they weren't very long [owing to the red flags].
