Tyre degradation leads to disappointment for McLaren

Despite a number of interesting fights during the US GP, McLaren's drivers failed to make a big impression, ending the race with just an 8th place position for Kevin Magnussen. Jenson Button lost out on points in the final laps and finished 12th. Despite being involved in a number of spirited scraps – Jenson Button enjoyed a consummately measured ding-dong with Fernando Alonso, while Kevin Magnussen’s battle with Sebastian Vettel was also firm but fair – both our drivers encountered varying degrees of tyre degradation in the closing stages of this afternoon’s race.
