Ricciardo thrilled by podium recovery

Red Bull/Getty Images Daniel Ricciardo expressed his delight after surging from fifth to third to claim a podium at the United States Grand Prix. Ricciardo started on the third row of the grid and slipped to seventh at the start but recovered to pass Kevin Magnussen and Fernando Alonso, before jumping Williams pair Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa through the pit stop phase. "I’m happy with that," he said. "I could see the Mercedes for the first part of the race which was really cool, I don’t know if they were just chilling, but we seemed to have good pace.
