Seb to take part in qualy despite penalty

Sebastian Vettel will take part in qualifying on Saturday despite the FIA confirming he will use a sixth power unit at Austin. The Red Bull driver has already used his allocation of five engines this season and using an extra one would result in an automatic 10-place grid penalty while changing the entire power unit results in a start from the pitlane. Motorsport's governing body confirmed on Friday after Free Practice One that Vettel will have a new power unit - which includes a new engine, new turbo, new MGU-K, new MGU-H, new energy store, and new control electronics for various systems - fitted to his RB10.
