Ocon impresses in first F1 test

Esteban Ocon completed his first Formula 1 test with the Lotus team on Wednesday and Thursday. The Frenchman was handed the run-out at the Valencia circuit in Spain as part of the Lotus F1 junior programme and as a reward for taking the FIA Formula 3 European Championship title. Ocon – who also raced in the Formula Renault 3.5 series last month – secured the championship at the penultimate round of the season, which took place at the Imola circuit. He managed over 650 kilometres, with the required mileage for an F1 FIA superlicense being 300 kilometres, at the wheel of the 2012 Lotus E20 over the two-day test.
