Alonso: Pit stop problem had no impact
– Ferrari's Fernando Alonso does not believe that a slow pit stop cost him a chance at finishing higher than sixth during the inaugural Russian Grand Prix.Alonso ran ahead of McLaren's Kevin Magnussen prior to his sole pit stop but a front jack issue meant that the Dane was able to jump ahead as Alonso lost time.But Alonso does not feel that Ferrari had the pace to beat McLaren as he ended the race fending off a threat from Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo."The race followed the pattern set in the earlier part of a weekend in which we didn't manage to be competitive, even if the car worked well from start to finish," he said."During the pit stop, the front jack didn't work,...
