Mateschitz made no attempt to stop Vettel from leaving

Sebastian Vettel celebrates Red Bull‘s first ever F1 win at the 2008 Italian GP with Dietrich Mateschitz and Franz Tost Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz is neither surprised nor disappointed about Sebastian Vettel's departure from his Formula One team after the season, and made no attempt to stop the world champion from leaving. Mateschitz, 70, told dpa in an email interview that the team knew Vettel was in talks with others and that he had a right to seek a new challenge. In addition, the team will save a lot of money as Russian newcomer Daniil Kvyat will earn far less than the four-time reigning world champion, Mateschitz said in his first public comments on the issue.
