Hamilton sets the pace in Russian GP practice
Lewis Hamilton set the benchmark time in practice for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix on Friday in a session where he was over eight-tenths quicker than the rest of the field. With grip improving in the afternoon, Hamilton’s lap was over two and a half seconds faster than the top time set in the morning running by Nico Rosberg. The German, though, could do no better than fourth in FP2. The battling Mercedes duo were separated by Kevin Magnussen, whose McLaren put in competitive lap times and the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso. Valtteri Bottas was fifth and teammate Felipe Massa in seventh, with the Williams pair split by Jenson Button. Both the Toro Rosso drivers featured in the top ten...
