Rosberg edges Hamilton in first practice in Russia

Nico Rosberg emerged the quickest driver in the opening practice session for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix on Friday edging Mercedes teammate and championship rival Lewis Hamilton by just six-hundredths. It was no surprise that Mercedes topped the times although Jenson Button did spring one as his McLaren was third, only a tenth off the pace, while teammate Kevin Magnussen sandwiched the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso in fourth. Hamilton was initially delayed due to technical reasons but did manage to complete 25 laps, four less than Rosberg. Both drivers, though, complained of excessive vibrations from their cars.
