Alonso cycling team unlikely to happen

Fernando Alonso The International Cycling Union (ICU) has revealed that Fernando Alonso will not become team principal of his own cycling team in the near future. Double F1 world champion Alonso planned to set up and running a professional cycling team since last year after plans to buy a controlling share in the Euskaltel-Euskadi team came to naught. However Alonso's squad was not on the list of teams published on Wednesday by the ICU that have applied for licences. International Cycling Union said in a statement: 'Over the last few months the UCI has had very cordial and productive discussions with Fernando Alonso and his representatives concerning a possible team for 2015.'...
