Rosberg admits Hamilton deserved win

Nico Rosberg has conceded that Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton probably deserved to win the Japanese Grand Prix, although the result was not foremost in either man's mind. Rosberg crossed the line nearly ten seconds behind his team-mate when red flags brought a premature end to proceedings, the inevitable outcome after an accident involving Marussia's Jules Bianchi. Both Rosberg and Hamilton appeared distracted during the obligatory post-race interviews but, after acknowledging that his thoughts were with the Frenchman, Rosberg admitted that his own afternoon had not been able to match up to his title rival's.
