I proved myself alongside Vettel - Ricciardo

Sutton Images Enlarge Daniel Ricciardo says he is happy he got the chance prove his credentials alongside Sebastian Vettel before the world champion left Red Bull. The announcement Vettel would be leaving Red Bull after a 15-year association with the team shocked the Suzuka paddock, and means Daniil Kvyat will be elevated after just one season at Toro Rosso. Ricciardo made that same step at the end of last season and has been the revelation of the year, consistently out-performing Vettel and winning three races, but he is unsure how much of a bearing that had on the German's decision to leave.
