Red Bull never considered Alonso as Vettel replacement

Red Bull/Getty Images Red Bull says it never considered Fernando Alonso as a candidate for its 2015 seat after Sebastian Vettel announced his intention to leave the reigning world champions. Red Bull and Vettel will part company at the end of the season, with the German expected to go to Ferrari to replace McLaren-bound Alonso. Red Bull has also confirmed that Daniil Kvyat will step into Vettel's seat and team principal Christian Horner says Alonso was not a candidate. "Fernando is a wonderful driver, but our philosophy is to invest inwardly, invest in youth and give youngsters a chance," he said.
