Ricciardo: I just made a mistake

Daniel Ricciardo took full blame for the accident which ended his running in FP2 for the Japanese Grand Prix after just three laps. During a disjointed session, Ricciardo went off after exiting the final chicane to start a flying lap, running wide and hitting the tyre barrier. Speaking immediately after the session, Ricciardo explained that he had been going slower than usual before getting on the power and made an error on cold tyres. “It wasn't really a problem, I just made a mistake,” Ricciardo said. “I did my first quick lap and then everyone's cooling after that – to do fast, slow and then fast again – and on the slow lap there was a yellow flag so I did it extra slow so...
