Stevens signs as reserve, no Japan run

Although Will Stevens will contest a number of Friday practice sessions having signed as Marussia's reserve driver, he won't be in action at Suzuka. There had been speculation earlier in the week that the 23-year-old, who previously filled a role at Caterham, could put in the laps this Friday with Marussia. However, prior to Friday's action, Marussia only confirmed that Stevens had signed on as an official reserve driver, alongside Alexander Rossi, and would take part in a "number of Free Practice 1 sessions."
