Typhoon heads towards Suzuka

It could be a very wet Japanese GP as Typhoon Phanfone is on a possible trajectory towards Suzuka and could bring "heavy and intense rainfall". Although the typhoon is expected to hit Japan either on Sunday or Monday, there is hope that during Sunday's 53-lap Japanese GP the weather system will still be further south of the circuit. "The weather itself for the actual area won't be particularly very nice but in terms of the high-strength winds, they look like - at this moment in time - they should still be well off shore or further south anyway," MeteoGroup forecaster Alexi Venerus told Press Association.
