Fears typhoon could see Japanese GP cancelled

The FIA is monitoring Typhoon Phanfone amid concerns it could cause problems for the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend. The typhoon is due to hit Suzuka on Sunday according to some simulations, whilst others have it missing the area but it will likely still bring with it heavy rain and strong winds. There are fears the race will need to be cancelled or moved to either Saturday evening or Monday. The governing body is set to make a decision on Friday when it knows more about the typhoon's expected path and arrival.
