De Silvestro's Sauber deal scuppered by financial problems

+ Simona de Silvestro’s hopes of breaking into Formula 1 in 2015 could be over after Sauber ended her testing deal owing to ‘financial reasons on her side’. The Swiss racer, who competed a series of tests with the team earlier this year in Fiorano and Valencia at the wheel of the team’s 2012 car, had been expected to run in first practice at the United States Grand Prix, however, that plan has now been axed.
