Merhi eager ahead of Suzuka outing

Caterham F1 Team Roberto Merhi says he 'will not be starting from zero' as he prepares for his second practice outing with Caterham at this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix. Formula Renault 3.5 frontrunner Merhi will participate in the opening practice session at Suzuka, in place of Marcus Ericsson, having replaced regular driver Kamui Kobayashi in the first session in Italy last month. Merhi believes his experience from Monza, when he was quicker than Ericsson, will aid his progress on Friday. "I’m very happy to be driving in another FP1 session with Caterham," he said.
