Mallya endorses gutsy Perez after Singapore drive

Force India F1 team principal Vijay Mallya has heaped praised on his driver Sergio Perez after his late charge to seventh position in the Singapore Grand Prix yielded a fifth points' finish in seven races for the Mexican. Having lacked the sheer consistency of team-mate Nico Hulkenberg during the first half of the 2014 F1 season, Perez has now out-performed the German in each of the last three grands prix, his 8-8-7 results sheet helping Force India edge away from McLaren-Mercedes for fifth in the constructors' standings.
