Alonso heads Mercedes in FP1

Fernando Alonso set the fastest time of first practice for the Singapore Grand Prix as he beat the two Mercedes drivers. The top three were closely matched as Ferrari once again showed strong Friday pace, with Alonso setting the mark with a 1:49.056 to top a practice session for the first time since FP1 in Canada. Lewis Hamilton was second quickest – 0.122s slower than Alonso – while Nico Rosberg was only 0.027s behind his team-mate in the second Mercedes despite a trip off track at Turn 7. Sebastian Vettel was fourth quickest for Red Bull as the reigning constructors' champions looked strong – with Daniel Ricciardo just behind him in fifth – but both over 0.8s slower than Alonso...
