FIA clarifies pit-to-car radio clampdown

+ The FIA has clarified to Formula 1 teams a list of messages – passed either through team radio or via pit radio to drivers – that will and will not be acceptable ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. The governing body launched a clampdown on the way teams communicate with their drivers last week, with teams now banned from providing performance related messages by pit-to-car radio as well as via pit board during sessions. The major revamp, coming at short notice, prompted Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff to call for further clarification from the FIA, in light of fears over how teams will handle essential procedures, such as at the start of a race.
