FIA clarifies F1 team radio restrictions

The FIA has released a list of the messages that will and will not be allowed to be sent to drivers as part of its clampdown on team radio. Last week Charlie Whiting issued a directive to the teams informing them that the FIA would be banning messages aimed at improving a driver's performance by rigorously enforcing Article 20.1 of the sporting regulations which states: "The driver must drive the car alone and unaided." Following comments from the likes of Toto Wolff that the FIA's stance was a “controversial” one, the governing body has now issued a more definitive list of which messages will be allowed and which ones will be considered a breach of regulations.
