Vergne: I have potential to match Dan
Jean-Eric Vergne admits his F1 future remains uncertain, but he feels he has what it takes to be just as good as Daniel Ricciardo.
The Frenchman and Ricciardo were team-mates at Toro Rosso for two seasons before the latter was promoted to a Red Bull seat at the expense of Vergne.
While Ricciardo has gone on to star at Red Bull this season, Vergne has lost his race seat for the 2015 campaign with STR opting to bring in teenager Max Verstappen.
Asked by Autosport how realistic he felt his chances of remaining in F1 were, he said: "It's difficult to say. If the key people in some teams trust me, and trust that I can make it [then I have a chance].
