Wehrlein named Mercedes reserve driver

Mercedes Enlarge Mercedes has named Pascal Wehrlein its reserve driver after he became the youngest-ever race winner in DTM history. Wehrlein, 19, won at the Lausitzring from pole position last weekend in his second season in the DTM series. After winning the ADAC Formel Masters and finishing second in his debut season of Formula 3 in 2012, Wehrlein became DTM's youngest-ever driver last year. He has has played a key role for Mercedes this season with over 12,000km accumulated in the team's F1 race simulator. On September 11 Wehrlein completed a 500km test at the Autodromo Internacional Algarve in Portimao, his first experience behind the wheel of a Formula One car. "I was delighted...
