Heidfeld crashes badly in Formula E debut

German Nick Heidfeld crashed heavily shortly before the end of the Formula E debut race of electric cars in Beijing Saturday. Heidfeld's car was pitched into the air and somersaulted after crashing into a safety barrier following contact with a car driven by Nicolas Prost. The 37-year-old former Formula One racer was able to climb out of his upturned Venturi car and confirmed later he had suffered no injuries. "Just to let everybody know: I am fine... physically... Could/would/should have won that. Now nothing... #racing," he posted on Twitter.
