Singapore will be a weekend of silent nights thanks to the FIA's recent decision to enforce the application of Article 20.1 of the Sporting Regulations with a view to improving the show by cutting down on pit-to-car radio transmissions that give the impressions drivers are simply racing by numbers. The idea has been gathering steam both in print and paddock alike of late, and on Wednesday night the teams were sent the following directive by the FIA: “In order to ensure that the requirements of Article 20.1 of the F1 Sporting Regulations is respected at all times FIA intends to rigorously enforce this regulation with immediate effect.
