FIA bans radio assistance

The F1 drivers will now have to race their cars alone after the FIA banned radio transmissions related to the "performance of the car or driver." In recent times, the Formula 1 airwaves have often been saturated with comments from the pitwall offering the drivers guidance in how to drive the car. This though goes against Article 20.1 of F1's sporting regulations, which states that a driver "must drive the car alone and unaided." FIA race director Charlie Whiting has informed the teams of the decision in a technical directive.
