Montezemolo steps down as Ferrari president

Scuderia Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo has confirmed that he is stepping down as Ferrari's president after 23 years at the helm of the company. Rumours circulated at last weekend's Italian Grand Prix that he would be leaving his role, but Montezemolo denied such reports. However on Wednesday it was confirmed that Montezemolo will be standing down and replaced by Sergio Marchionne. "This is the end of an era and so I have decided to leave my position as Chairman after almost 23 marvellous and unforgettable years in addition to those spent at Enzo Ferrari’s side in the 1970s," he said.
