Hamilton ignored engineers calls to conserve tyres to spook Rosberg

+ Lewis Hamilton says his decision to ignore the advice of his race engineer during Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix was a key factor in him winning his sixth race of the season. Hamilton, starting from pole, bogged down off the start, falling to fourth behind his team-mate and title rival Nico Rosberg, Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Massa. The Englishman made light work of the squabbling Mclaren and Williams drivers and was running second at the time of his one and only stop on lap 25. Early in the second stint Mercedes informed Hamilton to drop back from Rosberg in order to conserve his fuel for later in the race.
