Ericsson to start from the pitlane after FP3 rule break

+ Marcus Ericsson will start the Italian Grand Prix from the pitlane after the stewards handed him a penalty for ignoring yellow flags. On inspection of his telemetry, Ericsson, who qualified 22nd and last, was found to have ignored double waved yellow flags at the Curva Grande during final practice. “The driver of car 9 did not slow for double waved yellow flags in Turn 3 [Curva Grande],” reads a statement released by the FIA. The Caterham racer has also been awarded three penalty points to his racing license, taking him to five for the year. He will be forced to sit-out a grand prix if he exceeds the limit of 12 points over a 12 month period. Image courtesy of Octane Photographic
