Mercedes open to engine freeze lift

– Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says the German marque could be open to F1's engine freeze being lifted.With Mercedes dominating the start of the sport's new turbo era, there have been calls from rivals Ferrari and Renault to relax the rules, which currently only permit changes on the grounds of safety, reliability or costs.The idea was discussed during a meeting of F1's Strategy Group at Monza on Friday, with Wolff stating in the subsequent press conference for team bosses that Mercedes would support a lift if it is suitably implemented."Obviously we have a competitive advantage, it's pretty clear, but we would take the challenge on," said Wolff."We are now 12 races into a...
