Fast Alonso spurred on by Ferrari support

Fernando Alonso declared himself pleased with his and Ferrari's efforts following the first day of free practice for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the Spaniard saying he is particularly enjoying the support from the fans. The Spaniard was in strong from throughout the day in the Ferrari, delighting the tifosi by finishing both FP1 and FP2 in fourth position, just three tenths off Mercedes' ultimate pace in the latter.
