Rosberg pips Hamilton to fastest time

Sutton Images Enlarge Nico Rosberg topped the opening practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend by less than 0.1s from Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton on Friday morning. The session remained dry throughout, allowing drivers to attack the Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the first time in the new V6 turbo era. The cars were visibly more difficult to drive than in recent years, with the high-speed left hander at Pouhon catching out a number of drivers who were attempting to carry too much speed in to the corner. Hamilton was among the drivers to leave the track at Pouhon, and did so on two consecutive laps, as he chased down the slim advantage Rosberg had midway through the session....
