Chilton to race in place of Rossi after Marussia make switch

+ In a major u-turn Max Chilton will race for Marussia during this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, despite Alexander Rossi having been announced as the Briton’s replacement on Thursday. Marussia confirmed on Friday morning that Chilton, who was ‘benched’ on Thursday in favour of the American following “contractual issues,” will race for the team this coming weekend, after the FIA agreed to the Banbury-based squad’s request to make a change to its allocated driver. Rossi, who will still complete opening practice with the team, had been expected to make his Formula 1 debut on Sunday, becoming the first American to drive in the sport since Scott Speed in 2007.
