Marmorini axed as Ferrari reshuffles engine department
+ Ferrari has confirmed that Luca Marmorini, director of engine and electronics, has left the team, in a restructuring of its engine department following a disappointing 2014 season.
As part of new team boss Marco Mattiacci’s restructuring efforts, Mattia Binotto becomes chief operating officer of its power unit department, effectively replacing the departed Marmorini, while Lorenzo Sassi, who has worked with Ferrari since 2006, becomes chief designer of the power unit.
James Allison, who joined Ferrari from Lotus late last year, retains his position as technical director, with Nikolas Tombazis continuing in his supporting role as chief chassis designer.
