Bottas secures third consecutive podium

Valtteri Bottas recorded his third consecutive podium finish in today’s German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring. The Finn continued his strong form from Austria and Silverstone with another impressive drive to second place, equalling his best ever result in Formula 1. He started from the front row of the grid after capitalising on Lewis Hamilton’s Q1 brake failure to finish qualifying in the top two. He maintained his position off the line, entering turn one well clear of the opening lap chaos that took his team-mate Felipe Massa out of the race and gradually dropped back from eventual winner Nico Rosberg in the opening stint.
