Maldonado retained by Lotus for 2015

Lotus has confirmed that Pastor Maldonado will stay at the team for the 2015 Formula 1 season. The Venezuelan joined the Enstone-based outfit at the beginning of the year, but has suffered a difficult first campaign with the tricky E22. He spent three seasons racing for the Williams team before making the switch to Lotus, in the hope that the team would continue to challenge at the front after strong performances in 2012 and 2013. Lotus co-chairman and team principal Gerard Lopez confirmed the news in an interview posted on the team's website after qualifying on Saturday.
