Bottas never doubted Williams pace

Getty Images Enlarge Valtteri Bottas says he always knew Williams would be in good shape for qualifying at Hockenheim despite its apparent lack of pace during Friday's practice sessions. Williams was one of the teams to remove its Front and Rear Interconnected (FRIC) suspension system for Hockenheim and Bottas struggled to find a good balance for his car on Friday. Williams had looked to be slightly off the pace of the likes of Red Bull but Bottas, who will start alongside pole-sitter Nico Rosberg, admits the team knew it should not read too much into practice.
