Caterham plagued by problems in Germany
Caterham F1 Team
Caterham's difficult season continued as both drivers suffered technical issues during practice for the German Grand Prix.
Marcus Ericsson suffered an oil pressure problem in the CT05 but was able to return to the circuit and set the 20th fastest time.
But team-mate Kamui Kobayashi's day ended early after he pulled to the side of the circuit with flames trickling from the back of his car.
"The car balance felt much better with the changes we made over lunch but it immediately felt like it was down on power, it just felt strange," Kobayashi said of his outing during second practice.
