Smedley eyes strong Williams showing

Rob Smedley believes Williams may be able to emulate its Silverstone performance at this weekend's German Grand Prix. Having been caught out during a wet qualifying session, Valtteri Bottas recovered from 14th on the grid to finish in second place behind Lewis Hamilton to take his second consecutive podium. Heading to Hockenheim, head of vehicle performance Smedley expects the track will be another that plays to Williams' strengths. “We haven't been to Hockenheim for two years as a team because you alternate the tracks in Germany but I think that it can be a good track for us,” Smedley said. “It's like Silverstone in the way that it's quite an efficient track.
