Maldonado: Like a double engine!

Pastor Maldonado says having an upgraded power unit during testing at Silverstone felt “like a double engine”. While Renault updated the power unit in Austria, Maldonado had issues and had to use the old specification compared to team-mate Romain Grosjean. With a similar problem in Silverstone, Maldonado revealed he was down on power in the race but was delighted when he finally got to run the new version during the in-season test. “It's like a double engine now!” Maldonado said. “It's much quicker, much more powerful … after the race we were checking the data and we were more than 60 horsepower less than normal.
