Massa fastest after first morning at Silverstone

Getty Images Enlarge Felipe Massa topped the first day of Silverstone's in-season test, setting a time 0.331s quicker than Mercedes' Nico Rosberg in second. Massa completed a total of 23 laps by 13:00, with his best attempt coming on the medium compound tyre late in the morning. Rosberg managed a total of 41 laps but was over a second off the best time set in the dry during Friday practice for the British Grand Prix. Sergio Perez was third fastest and 1.347s off the pace of Massa's Williams, after improving just before 13:00.
