FIA to take 'zero tolerance' approach to track limits

The FIA stewards will adopt a “zero tolerance” policy to cars abusing the track limits during qualifying for the British Grand Prix. As was the case in Austria, the race stewards at Silverstone intend to take a hard line against drivers abusing track limits. Any car that leaves the track limits at turns nine and 18 – Copse and Club – of the circuit during qualifying will have their lap time stripped from them. “We will adopt a “zero tolerance” approach to cars leaving the track on the exit of turn 9 and 18 during qualifying,” reads a short statement released by the FIA on Saturday morning. “Unless we are satisfied that a driver left the track at either of these...
