Gutierrez critical of grid penalty

Sauber F1 Team Esteban Gutierrez believes that the FIA needs to re-think its penalty decision for unsafe releases from the pit lane after he was hit with a 10 place grid drop for this weekend's British Grand Prix. Gutierrez was release prematurely from his first stop in Austria - without his wheel firmly attached - and was hit with the mandatory stop and go penalty, along with the 10 place grid penalty. "I think it’s too harsh as in our case the wheel didn’t come off the car," he said. "I felt it straight away and I stopped.
